The plumbing we find on a job depends heavily on where and when a property was built. Coventry has a substantial core of Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing — particularly across CV1, CV2 and CV6 — where original lead supply pipes and lead stopcocks are still found. The post-war rebuilding that followed the 1940 Blitz added large areas of 1950s semi-detached and terraced housing across CV3, CV4 and CV5, many of which now have ageing back boilers, gravity-fed cylinders or early combination boilers approaching the end of their service life.
